Summary

Following the review of Rail Operations unit standards in early 2021, additional feedback was received from Kiwirail, the only user of this unit standard, that assessment note 5.d in the Guidance Information was not achievable or assessable in practice as there are no available freight trains with ‘primarily empty vehicles’ for assessment.  In addition, dynamic braking and adapting to differing loading conditions is sufficiently assessed in performance criteria 2.3 and 3.3.  For these reasons, assessment note 5.d in the Guidance Information was removed from unit standard 19387.
