Summary

 

The Primary ITO reviewed Horticulture unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated New Zealand Diploma in Horticulture Production (Level 5) with strands in Fruit Production, Indoor Crop Production, Nursery Production, Outdoor Crop Production, Post-Harvest, and Wine Growing [Ref: 2666-2] graduate outcomes.  Level 5 Horticulture unit standards were reviewed according to their planned review date.  Consultation was carried out in July and August 2021 where consent to assess holders and stakeholders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments.  This feedback was addressed where appropriate.

 

Main changes

 

·      22 unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA unit standard template requirements.

·      Credits were reduced for unit standards 29920 and 29921 to better reflect training durations.

·      Unit standard 29925 was reclassified from Horticulture Resources Management to Primary Sector Resources Management to reflect the wider usage of the unit standard across primary sectors.

·      Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.

·      Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2023
