Summary of review and consultation process

New Zealand Certificate in Surveying (Level 4) [Ref: 2957] and New Zealand Diploma in Surveying (Level 6) [Ref: 2959]

Graduates, current learners and employers were surveyed in 2020. Feedback, graduate numbers and enrolment data were discussed at the Surveying Reference Group meeting held in September 2020.  Refer to Surveying Review Summary and Surveying RG Meeting notes in supporting documents. This information was used to inform proposed amendments to the qualification.  The Surveying Reference Group included representatives of the professional bodies Survey and Spatial NZ and Consulting Surveyors of New Zealand.

The reviewed qualifications were published on Connexis’ website and the wider group of stakeholders informed by email. An amendment to the diploma’s employment pathway was discussed by email and the final qualifications were endorsed by Reference Group members.

New Zealand Certificate in Hydrographic Surveying (Level 4) [Ref: 2958]

The Qualification Developer and representatives from the Hydrographic Surveying industry and the Royal New Zealand Navy met in June 2020 to confirm the Review Plan. Connexis then conducted a survey of stakeholders on the website and communicated with stakeholders via the Infrastructure E-News and the Assessor Newsletter with the link to the survey and consultation documents.

The Hydrographic Surveying Reference Group considered the stakeholder feedback. The feedback and responses were recorded and published on the Connexis’ website. The final draft of the reviewed qualification was approved by the Reference Group in November 2020.
