Summary of review and consultation process |
The review of the qualification ran from August to December 2019. It consisted of a preparatory stage when information was gathered, followed by an online survey and a face-to-face consultation event. Stakeholders involved in the review included peak bodies, industry associations, employers, providers, graduates, and assessors. The feedback and recommendations from the various consultation events were analysed with proposed amended qualification outlines sent back to stakeholders for comment and attestation. |
Main changes resulting from the review |
· The wording of the graduate outcomes was amended to meet current NZQA and sector requirements. · Credit adjustments were made to graduate profile outcomes 1 through 7 inclusive. · GPO 1 (Work collaboratively…) increased from 10 to 20 credits and GPO’s 5, 6, and 7 (Strand-specific skills and knowledge) increased from 40 to 50 credits. GPO 2 (Actively contribute to a culture of professionalism…) and GPO 3 (Provide personal and/or peer leadership…) were reduced from 15 to 10 credits each, while GPO 4 (Work alongside…) was reduced from 40 credits to 30). The overall credit value for the qualification remains the same: 120 credits. · The Strategic Purpose Statement was updated. · The Education Pathway and the Employment, Cultural, Community Pathway were updated. |
