Summary of review and consultation process |
During the mandatory review of the qualifications in the refrigeration and air conditioning suite, it was determined by industry that the New Zealand Certificate in Split System Heat Pump Installation (Level 3)[Ref:2367] was no longer fit for purpose. This has been displayed by the fact industry have not required programmes to be developed to lead to the qualification. Since the original qualification was written much has changed in the industry and the qualification no longer met the needs of industry. Industry requested the qualification be expired and replaced with qualification that was reflective of the direction industry was taking for the installation of air conditioning units and systems. The development work on the qualification replacing the New Zealand Certificate in Split System Heat Pump Installation (Level 3) [Ref:2367] has been completed with representatives from IRHACE, CCCANZ, Industry Suppliers, and Technical experts. |
