Summary of review and consultation process

Consultation occurred with industry associations, professional practitioners, graduates, educational specialists and education organizations approved to deliver the qualification. Consultation included two industry meetings to introduce the review process and discuss feedback respectively.

Representatives from the New Zealand Council of Homeopaths (NZCH), representing professional practitioners as well as industry needs and perspectives were consulted. Feedback from NZCH also covered the ability of graduates to meet registration requirements for professional practice within the ‘acute’ scope.

The qualification developer benchmarked the qualification’s purpose and validity against international homeopathic standards and perspectives, ensuring graduates a level of recognition and transferability both within New Zealand and internationally, especially for the graduates who may move or practice (virtually/online or physically) offshore. 

The reviewed included the requisite skill level of acute graduates moving into the  New Zealand Diploma in Homeopathy (with strands in Human Health or Animal Health) (Level 6) [Ref: 3918]. Graduate skill level was in line with expectations and was reinforced by graduate feedback, relating to the qualification sufficiently preparing them for higher level learning and/or work as professional acute homeopathic practitioners.

College of Natural Health & Homeopathy considers the qualification remains fit for purpose.

People currently enrolled in programmes leading to version 1 of this qualification may either complete the requirements by 31 December 2023 or transfer to version 2 of the qualification.
