Summary of review and consultation process |
The qualification review encompassed consultation with stakeholders from the fencing sector to ensure that the reviewed qualifications met their current and future needs. A combination of online meetings, and email correspondence ensured stakeholders had opportunity to participate in the qualification review process.
An initial fencing working group meeting was arranged in October to review qualifications. Suggested amendments to the qualifications focused on identifying skills gaps and creating more flexibility within qualifications to meet future job role requirements. The initial working group meeting was followed up with working group members to discuss amendments to qualifications and confirm in principle the recommended amendments met future industry requirements. Further consultation was carried out via email to seek wider feedback from the fencing sector in November. Feedback from the wider fencing sector was considered by the working group.
Final stakeholder attestation sign-off from the fencing working group was obtained once all feedback was taken into consideration.
The outcome of the qualification review resulted in amendments to credits and graduate outcomes of the New Zealand Certificate in Fencing (Level 3) with strands in Rural, and Industrial [Ref: 2699] to ensure the current qualification remained fit for purpose. |
