The Primary ITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published February 2021
Planned review date December 2025
Summary
As a result of the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Equine Skills (Level 3) with strands in Harness Racing Stable Assistant, Thoroughbred Raceday Strapper, Thoroughbred Stable Assistant, Thoroughbred Racing Track Rider, and Sporthorse Stable Assistant [Ref: 2376], the Primary ITO has reviewed unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated qualification graduate outcomes.
As a result of industry consultation, amendments were made to ensure unit standard content remained fit for purpose.
Consultation was carried out in August 2020 where consent to assess holders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· Unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA unit standard template requirements.
· Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.
· Credits were increased for unit standards 20884 and 24751 to reflect the training hours required to achieve competency.
· Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.
· Seven unit standards were designated expiring without replacement due to low usage.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
