Date new versions published                                                               March 2021

Planned review date                                                                              December 2025

Summary

The review commenced in September 2020 to take into account changes to qualification graduate outcomes in the New Zealand Certificate Pest Operations (Level 3) with strands in Rural Pest Control, Rural Pest Monitoring, and Urban Pest Control [Ref: 2443].

Unit standards were sent out to key industry stakeholders and all consent to assess holders by online survey in September 2020.

Feedback was discussed with key industry stakeholders and changes were incorporated where appropriate.  The updated unit standards were finalised in late October 2020.

Main changes

·      Unit standards 20796, 20931, 22117, 22118, 22119, 22120, 22121, and 22122 were designated expiring without replacement as these standards are no longer required.

·      Titles were amended for several unit standards to better reflect content.

·      Credits increased for several unit standards to reflect the actual learning and assessment time required to achieve competency.

·      Two new unit standards were developed to fill a gap in the areas of navigation for pest control and documentation.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
