Summary

 

The review of these unit standards was prompted by the outcomes of the mandatory review of qualifications, specifically:

 

·            New Zealand Certificate in Alpine Resort Operations (Level 3) [Ref: 3224]

·            New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 5) [Ref: 3490]

·            New Zealand Certificate in Snowsport Patrol (Level 4) [Ref: 3498]

·            New Zealand Certificate in Snowsport Patrol Leader (Level 5) [Ref: 3497]

·            New Zealand Certificate in Snowmaking (Level 3) [Ref: 3495]

·            New Zealand Certificate in Snowgrooming (Level 4) [Ref: 3494].

 

Feedback from stakeholders, including industry experts and current users, was gathered through an open consultation process.

 

Main changes

 

·         Minor amendments to language within the unit standards were made for readability and to ensure the standards are fit for purpose and aligned with current industry practice.

·         Unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA template requirements.

·         Legislation and industry references were updated for currency.

·         Performance criteria were updated to remove any duplication or repetition.

·         Title of unit standard 29489 was updated to better reflect outcomes.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
