Summary
Unfortunately, there was an existing issue with the previous versions of the unit standards, this was overlooked in the review as there was a moderator’s ruling in place to mitigate the difficulty.
This issue was brought to our attention by feedback from an assessor. The amendments to these unit standards have been made with consultation and agreement by subject matter experts, technical advisory group members and assessors.
Main changes
· A range statement was added to performance criteria 1.1 in unit standard 14997.
· Performance criteria 1.2 was reworded to be consistent with other unit standards in this domain.
· Range statements in performance criterion 1.1 in unit standards 14996 and 14997 and 1.2 in unit standards 14996 -14998 were written to allow for candidates to achieve these unit standards either by hand drawing or by using CAD.
· The range statement in 14996 was amended to include concept drawings
· Performance criteria 1.3 was deleted since it is already included in the “preparation” covered in Performance criteria 1.2.
