Date new versions published November 2021
Planned review date December 2025
Summary
MITO reviewed motor industry unit standards to ensure they are fit-for-purpose for the industry sector. MITO was supported by the motor industry’s coachbuilding working group including subject matter experts and MITO representatives. The standards were circulated to the working groups’ networks, and a consultation period was held. Feedback received was actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· Guidance information, outcomes, performance criteria and range statements of units were updated to ensure relevance to industry practice and to reflect the intended outcome of the standards.
· Titles, levels and credits were amended to align with content changes.
· Unit standards 19633 and 19635 were expired due to little usage in the last two years, and no anticipated usage in the future.
· A new unit standard was developed to address skills and knowledge gap in fitting and testing hydraulic or pneumatic components in the coachbuilding industry.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
