Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The main user of these qualifications is the New Zealand Leather and Shoe Research Association Inc. (LASRA). Consultation was carried out with LASRA (Rowan Bell) who liaised further with the wider industry of tanners and fellmongers in July 2021.
As these qualifications have not been used since first registered in 2015, it was not possible to determine if any changes were required. The National Certificates, which these qualifications replaced, expired in December 2020 and trainees had completions recorded up to this date. However, LASRA and the wider industry confirmed that although the current qualifications had no usage they met industry need and are still required. LASRA do not expect changes in the industry over the next three years (to the next schedule review) to impact on qualification content. Programmes leading to these qualifications will be developed in the near future
The Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics WDC is confident that the qualifications remain fit for purpose until the next scheduled review which has been brought forward to 2024 to align with the scheduled review date of the New Zealand Certificate in Fellmongery and Leather Processing (Level 4) [Ref: 2492].
