Summary

Key industry stakeholders involved within the aquaculture industry who made up the External Working Group (EWG) met by Microsoft Teams between November 2020 to June 2021.  Unit standards were reviewed, and changes recommended to ensure current industry requirements were met.

Consultation was carried out in June 2020 where consent to assess holders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments.

There was no further feedback and the EWG was notified of their pending submission for registration.

Main changes

·         Forty-four unit standards were reviewed and changes were made to meet specific industry requirements.

·         Titles were updated for some unit standards to reflect unit content.

·         Levels were increased for unit standards 16337, 23856 and 23857 from Level 2 to Level 3 to better reflect the complexity level of the standards.

·         Credit values were updated for some unit standards to reflect adjustments in industry training needs and actual learning and assessment time required to achieve competency.

·         Guidance information was updated where appropriate.

·         Outcomes and performance criteria were updated where appropriate to better meet current industry requirements.

·         Reviewed unit standards were moved to the current template.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2024
