The Skills Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The Skills Organisation facilitated the review of the Public Sector Compliance Operations and Public Sector Compliance Investigations unit standards between February and July 2021. A working group of members from the Regulatory sector were involved in reviewing the unit standards to ensure that they remained fit for purpose for their sector use. The Skills Organisation is the only Tertiary Education Organisation (TEO) with Consent to Assess of the reviewed unit standards. The Programme Manager from The Skills Organisation was part of the working group to review the unit standards. The unit standards were also reviewed to align to version 2 of the suite of Regulatory Practice qualifications.
Main changes
· Legislation was updated to reflect currency.
· Titles of the unit standards changed to remove compliance where appropriate and replaced with current sector use of Regulatory Practice.
· Titles were amended for some unit standards to reflect updated outcome statements.
· Changes were made to range statements with the addition of components to be more inclusive of other organisations in the Regulatory sector.
· Unit standard 4231 was set to expire due to the Regulatory sector’s use of standard 29193. Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO), who have reported the most usage in the last five years, were informed of the expiry of unit standard 4231. MITO have agreed to expire this unit standard.
· Minor changes were made to Performance Criteria and Range statements to reflect changes made to version 2 of the suite of Regulatory Practice qualifications.
· Two new unit standards were written to align to version 2 of the New Zealand Certificate in Regulatory Practice (Level 5) with strand in Audit, Inspection, and Investigation [Ref: 2777].
· Unit standards 29205 and 29206 were designated expiring due to the removal of the Operations strand in the New Zealand Certificate in Regulatory Practice (Level 5) with strands in Audit, Inspection and Investigation [Ref: 2777].
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
