Summary

The above unit standards are included in programmes leading to the New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade) (Level 4) [Ref: 2366], the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with strands in Fitting and Machining, General Engineering, Machining, Maintenance Engineering, Toolmaking, and Electricity Supply [Ref: 1262], and the National Certificate in Locksmithing [Ref: 0452].

Learners enrolled in these programmes have been impacted by the Covid-19 lockdown situation, particularly in Auckland.  This has resulted in the inability to contact learners and coupled with the cancellation or postponement of block courses until 2022, has meant a total of 972 compulsory assessments across eight unit standards are currently required to be assessed before their expiry date of 31 December 2021.  An initial extension of the last date of assessment took place in December 2021 to enable the learners to achieve these unit standards and complete their programmes as planned.

Hanga Aro Rau Workforce Development Council has requested the additional extension of the last date of assessment for earlier versions of the above unit standards where there are still outstanding assessments to be completed.
