Summary

MITO reviewed commercial road transport and driving unit standards to ensure they are fit-for-purpose for the industry sectors.

MITO was supported by the commercial road transport and driver education working groups including subject matter experts, industry associations and MITO representatives.  The standards were circulated to the working groups’ networks, and a consultation period was held.  Feedback received was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes

·         Purpose statements, guidance information, references, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were amended to ensure they are accurate and fit for purpose, reflect the standard content and to ensure clarity for users.

·         Titles of some unit standards were changed to better reflect their content.

·         The standard setting details were updated to reflect the change of standard setting body to Hanga-Aro-Rau Workforce Development Council from 4 October 2021.

·         All unit standards were moved from CMR 0092 to CMR 0014.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2023
