Primary Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published April 2022
Planned review date December 2026
Summary
The Primary ITO revised Horticulture unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated qualification graduate outcomes.
Level 3 Nursery Production unit standards were reviewed according to their planned review date. Further amendments suggested by industry to the selected unit standard were made to sure it was fit for purpose.
Consultation was carried out in August 2021 where consent to assess holders and stakeholders had the opportunity to give comment on a survey sent asking for feedback to amendments. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.
· Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.
· Unit standards 20057, 27705 and 29843 have had an increase in credits, to better reflect the time taken to achieve the specialised learning and assessment that is needed to achieve the outcome. As a result of consultation with industry and stakeholders, it was found that the original credits were insufficient to achieve the outcomes.
· Standard setting body details were updated to Muka Tangata People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council to reflect the change to standard setting responsibility from 4 October 2021.
· Unit standards were transferred from CMR 0032 to CMR 0052.
