Summary

Muka Tangata - People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council reviewed the Rural Servicing unit standards to align with the graduate profile outcomes of the New Zealand Certificate in Rural Servicing (Level 4) [Ref: 3520].  Amendments recommended by industry were actioned where appropriate to ensure the standards are fit for purpose.

Key industry stakeholders, including consent to assess holders, were consulted and the External Working Group met in December 2021 to discuss the unit standards listed above. Amendments were made where appropriate to align to current industry requirements.

Wider stakeholder consultation of these unit standards was carried out in October 2021.  Feedback was collated, and amendments were made where necessary.

Main changes

·      Three unit standards were designated as expiring as they were no longer fit for purpose.

·      Titles were amended for some unit standards to better reflect content.

·      One new unit standard, 33059, was developed in consultation with industry, to cover the application of technology as an agribusiness management tool.  This unit standard is in the Primary Sector Core Skills domain as it will be used by other sectors.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2024.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2024.
