Planned review date for new standards December 2027
Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau carried out the review of the above carpentry unit standards from August 2022- October 2022. The associated qualification review of the New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry [Ref: 2738-2] was published in January 2022. Due to the qualification review only taking place in January, Waihanga Ara Rau decided to rollover and revise the unit standards with a view to fully reviewing them in 2023 when the outcomes of the Reform of Vocational Education are rolled out.
The unit standard consultation included industry representatives, BCITO, Roofing Association New Zealand, Certified Builders, MBIE and providers with consent to assess. Consultation involved emails, phone conversations and online meetings to confirm that the two new unit standards created in this review are fit for purpose.
