Summary of review and consultation process |
|
Qualification Developer responsibilities for the New Zealand Certificate in Caretaking (Level 3) was transferred from Careerforce to Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council on its establishment in October 2021 Careerforce commenced preliminary review work in mid-2021, which identified the qualification had been designed for the wrong market during its original development and had no use or interest from the Cleaning Services sector. It was agreed that there was insufficient evidence of need or clarity of intent at this time to maintain this qualification, and that it should be expired. There has not been any use or completions of the qualification between 2015 and 2022. Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council subsequently contacted the current programme owner and promoted the proposal to expire the qualification through the Ringa Hora website. No feedback was received from either source, although Ringa Hora did additionally seek advice from the Building Service Contractors of New Zealand, who confirmed the qualification was no longer required by the industry. Subsequently, the decision has been made to discontinue the qualification. |
