Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau has completed the review of the Career Education unit standard 30692 listed above. Providers with consent to assess were emailed and no changes were recommended.
As a result of TRoQ (Targeted Review of Qualifications) the New Zealand Certificate in Trowel Trades (Level 4) with strands in Brick and Block Laying, Floor and Wall Tiling, Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems, Ferro-cement Tank Manufacture, Refractory Installation, and Solid Plastering (with optional strands in Fixing Cavities and Substrates, and Decorative Mouldings) [3137-1] replaced:
· National Certificate in Brick and Block Laying (Level 4) [Ref: 1356],
· National Certificate in Floor and Wall Tiling (Level 4) [Ref: 0726],
· National Certificate in Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems (Level 4) with strands in Rebated Fibre Cement, Lightweight Fibre Cement, and External Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) [Ref: 0786],
· National Certificate in Refractory Installation (Level 3) [Ref: 1355], and the
· National Certificate in Solid Plastering (Level 4) with an optional strand in Specialist Mouldings and Decorative Work [Ref: 0725].
New unit standards reflecting the New Zealand Certificate in Trowel Trades (Level 4) with strands in Brick and Block Laying, Floor and Wall Tiling, Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems, Ferro-cement Tank Manufacture, Refractory Installation, and Solid Plastering (with optional strands in Fixing Cavities and Substrates, and Decorative Mouldings) [3137-1] Specifications were registered in the Brick and Block Laying, Refractory Installation, Precast Concrete, Floor and Wall Tiling, Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems, and Solid Plastering domains to support programmes leading to the New Zealand Certificate. A review of existing standards in the domains listed above did not occur at the time of registering the new unit standards.
The Floor and Wall Tiling domain unit standards included in this review were used by Te Pukenga WBL BCITO, and last reported against these standards in 2020. Consultation with industry, Te Pukenga WBL BCITO, and other providers with consent to assess for these domains confirm that these unit standards will be expired.
The Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems domain unit standards included in this review were used by Te Pukenga WBL BCITO. The last usage reported against these standards was in 2021 and Te Pukenga WBL BCITO confirm that they have no current programmes that includes these unit standards. Consultation with industry, Te Pukenga WBL BCITO, and other providers with consent to assess for these domains confirm that these unit standards will be expired.
The Solid Plastering domain unit standards included in this review were used by Te Pukenga WBL BCITO, and the last usage reported against these standards were in 2019. Consultation with industry, Te Pukenga WBL BCITO, and other providers with consent to assess for these domains confirm that these unit standards will be expired.
