Summary

The standards listed above were reviewed over the period February to September 2021.

Input and feedback were invited from all organisations with consent to assess against the unit standards being reviewed, with web consultation taking place regarding the proposed changes over a two-week period.

Careerforce conducted a series of virtual hui with sector representatives from the disability, aged care, home-based and community support sectors spanning the functions of training and development, assessment and management.

Consultation indicated that while in general the units were fit for purpose, there needed to be amendments to the wording of outcomes in many of this group to allow for more flexibility in assessment, and in some cases a slight realignment with level 3 unit standards.

Main changes

·     Guidance information was updated.

·     Language used in the outcomes and performance criteria was aligned with current protocols.

·     The titles of unit standards 16870, 20826, 23451, 23452, 23685, 23686, 26979, 26982, and 28546 were changed to allow for more flexibility in the way learner achievement can be assessed.

·     The title of unit standard 28517 was amended for better alignment with the order in which the outcomes are listed.

·     The title of unit standard 28545 was changed to make it more technically correct.

·     The credit value of unit standard 23686 was increased based on industry feedback, but as the overall outcome is the same the ID remains unchanged.

·     Standard setting body details were updated to reflect the transfer of standards to Toitū te Waiora Community, Health, Education, and Social Services Workforce Development Council in October 2021.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2023
