Summary

The review was undertaken by MITO New Zealand Incorporated in line with the scheduled review cycle. Unit standards were reviewed with the support of industry members throughout 2021.

Reviewed unit standards were sent to Consent to Assess holders in July 2021 for feedback, and a website consultation period held. The review was then put on hold until the establishment of the Hanga-Aro-Rau WDC in October 2021.

Feedback received during the consultation period was addressed by Hanga-Aro-Rau WDC where appropriate.

Main changes

·      Guidance information, outcomes, and performance criteria were updated to reflect terminology used in the current template, and to ensure they remain relevant and current.

·      Unit 19499 and 20472 had their titles changed to better align with legislation and the intent of the standard.

·      Unit 15951 level increased from Level 1 to Level 2 to better reflect the knowledge and skill outlined.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2023
