Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau WDC carried out the review of concrete unit standards from May 2022 - September 2022. The consultation included industry representatives, BCITO, Concrete New Zealand, MITO, Land Based Training, and providers with consent to assess. Consultation involved email and online meetings to confirm that the unit standards in this review remain fit for purpose.
Main changes
· Six unit standards, 12020, 24879, 26048, 26053, 26063 and 26219 had minor wording changes.
· Nine unit standards were set to expire as they are no longer required by industry.
· Unit standard 26053 credits was increased from 5 to 10 as a result of the recommendations made by the Technical Advisory Group. NZS 3112 involves testing procedures that require a range of knowledge and understanding to carry out as per industry practice. It was recommended that 10 credits are more in line with the practices required to carry out the testing to industry standard.
· Guidance information has been updated throughout to align with current publications.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2024.
