Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council (WDC) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.  The unit standards listed in bold are expiring.

Date new versions published                                                               November 2022

Planned review date                                                                              December 2027

Summary

Waihanga Ara Rau WDC, the Gas Association of New Zealand (GANZ), organisations with consent to assess, and representatives from the Gas Reticulation industry have reviewed the unit standards listed above to update them in line with current industry practice, and to ensure they are fit for purpose.  There were no objections to the proposed expiry of the unit standards designated for expiry.

The unit standards were reviewed during August and September 2022.

Main changes

·      Titles were amended for five unit standards to better reflect the content.

·      Guidance information, legislation, performance criteria, range statements, and Standard Setting Body contact details were amended in line with industry and current unit standard template requirements.

·      18 unit standards were designated expiring with no replacement as they are no longer required by the gas reticulation industry.

·      Credit values for seven unit standards were amended to more accurately reflect the notional hours required to complete training and assessment.

·      The level of unit standard 12509 was reduced from Level 5 to Level 4 to align with the complexity of skills and knowledge required to meet the outcomes.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2025.
