Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Summary
The review was undertaken because the standards were overdue for updating and some had no recent usage.
Consultation was conducted with providers who have consent to assess and the peak body Scaffolding, Access & Rigging NZ (SARNZ).
A summary of the feedback from the consultation concluded that:
· 20259 content is now included in four current unit standards in the Core Rigging domain, (4212, 4313, 4214, 4215).
· 23230 content is integrated into current unit standards, 19620 and 19621.
· 20259 and 25318 are no longer being used and providers had no objection to the unit standards being expired.
· Providers and SARNZ have no objection to expiring 23230 so there is no further use for it. This is the only remaining unit standard in the expiring Scaffolding domain.
In response to feedback Waihanga Ara Rau recommend that 20259, 25318 and 23230 be expired.

· 20259, 23230 and 25318 are expiring due to low or no recent usage.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
