Summary
The Primary ITO reviewed Horticulture unit standards to better reflect the reviewed requirements of the associated qualification graduate outcomes.
Consultation was carried out in July and August 2021 where consent to assess holders and stakeholders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· Four Forest Nursery, two Horticulture Production Management and five Production Horticulture unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA unit standard template requirements.
· Unit standard 10948 level increased to level 4 with an increase in credits to reflect the learning and assessment requirements.
· Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standard content remained fit for purpose.
· Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.
· Unit standards 3004, 10944, 10948, 10949 and 10956 have had an increase in credits, to better reflect the time taken to achieve the specialised learning and assessment that is needed to achieve the outcome. As a result of consultation with industry and stakeholders, it was found that the original credits were insufficient to achieve the outcomes.
· Unit standards 3004 and 3008 have been reclassified from Horticulture Production Management to Production Horticulture.
· Unit standards were transferred from CMR 0032 to CMR 0052.
