Summary

Key industry stakeholders involved within the Amenity Horticulture industry who made up the External Working Group (EWG) met via Microsoft Teams between July 2021 to November 2021.  Unit standards were reviewed, and changes recommended to ensure current industry requirements were met.

Consultation was carried out in November 2021 where consent to assess holders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments and expiry.  There was no further feedback and the EWG was notified of their pending submission for registration.

Main changes

·      27 standards were reviewed and changes were made to meet specific industry requirements.

·      Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect unit content.

·      Levels were increased for unit standards 30253, 30254, 30255 and 30256 from Level 4 to Level 5 to meet industry training needs.

·      Credit values were updated for unit standard 30249, 30259 and unit 30260 to reflect adjustments in industry training needs and actual learning and assessment time required to achieve competency.

·      Guidance information was updated where appropriate.

·      Outcomes and performance criteria were updated where appropriate to better meet current industry requirements.

·      Reviewed unit standards were moved to the current template.

·      Unit standards 30261 and 30262 were designated expiring without replacement.  Industry noted that there was some replication in units which could be addressed by some minor wording changes.

·      Unit standards were transferred from CMR 0032 to CMR 0052.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2024

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2024

Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)

CMR 0032 was reviewed in November 2015 and merged into CMR 0052.  Any unit standards covered by CMR 0032 have been moved to CMR 0052 as part of this review.
