Date new versions published                                                               February 2022

Planned review date                                                                              December 2024

Summary

The above review process was originally initiated by MITO New Zealand Incorporated in 2020.  Though industry has still deemed these standards as necessary with ad-hoc assessment still required, usage will be monitored over the duration leading into the next planned review date due to the recent very low or no usage across several of these standards.  The review ensured the unit standards are fit-for-purpose for the ports and stevedoring industry sectors.

MITO conducted industry consultation in November/December 2020.  Consultation feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council completed the review in 2021.

Main changes

·      Guidance information and legislation were updated in all standards.

·      Prerequisites, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were amended in line with current industry requirements.

·      Titles were updated for unit standards 11511, 18950, 18954, 20048, 20049, 20051, 20053 and 25104 to better reflect the outcomes.

·      Levels were decreased from Level 4 to Level 3 for unit standards 28902, 28903 and 28904 to align with level descriptors.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2023

Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)
