Planned review date for revised standard (unchanged) December 2025
Summary
The Muka Tangata WDC reviewed Agriculture, Horticulture and Primary Skills unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated qualification graduate outcomes.
Level 3 unit standards in the Production Horticulture domain were reviewed according to their planned review date. Unit standard 24821 had been reviewed in May 2021, however errors were noted on publication. Further amendments suggested by industry to the selected unit standard were made to ensure it was fit for purpose.
Consultation was carried out in August 2021 where consent to assess holders and stakeholders had the opportunity to give comment on a survey sent asking for feedback to amendments. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· One unit standard (24821) was revised and 27 unit standards were reviewed.
· Unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA template requirements.
· Unit standard 830 was replaced with two new standards because in some orchards fruit tree training and pruning is completed either on young or mature trees.
· Unit standards 803, 21217, 21220 and 21223 were expired due to little or no usage in the last two years, and no anticipated usage in the future.
· Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.
· Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
