Summary

Muka Tangata Workforce Development Council reviewed Horticulture unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated qualification graduate outcomes.

Consultation was carried out in July and August 2021 where stakeholders, including organisations with consent to assess had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments.  The feedback received were addressed where appropriate.

Main changes

·      Unit standards were moved to the current template.

·      Unit standards 44, 50 and 22176 were designated expiring and will not be replaced due low usage in the last two years, and no anticipated usage in the future.

·      Unit standard 21956 level increased to level 4 with a reduction in credits to reflect the learning requirements.

·      Credits were reduced for unit standards 29890, 29893, 29896 and 29899 to better reflect training durations.

·      Guidance information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.

·      Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2024

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
