Key qualification review, development and consultation phases

Input and feedback from key stakeholders was invited and incorporated into the review and qualification developments. Key phases in the process included:

·         Stakeholder endorsement of review outcomes – via email and online meetings.

Main changes resulting from the review

·         Title changed to New Zealand Certificate in DJ and Music Production (Level 5) – “electronic” dropped from the title as now an outdated term.

·         Strategic purpose broadened to reflect that graduates go on to employment in various creative industries.

·         Employment pathway updated to reflect the reality of where graduates go.

·         General conditions reworded to strengthen requirements regarding diversity and inclusion.

New Zealand Diploma in Audio Engineering and Production (Level 6) [Ref: 3423]

·         Credit value reduced from 240 to 120 to allow entry for learners who may have experience from other qualifications other than the Level 5 Diploma.

·         Strategic purpose broadened to reflect that graduates go on to employment in various creative industries.

·         Reference to “complex” music removed throughout qualification as this difficult to define and assess.

·         Graduate profile wording amended to better reflect theories and skills, and to remove duplication.

New Zealand Diploma in DJ and Electronic Music Production (Level 5) [Ref: 3427]
