Development of Gas Industry unit standards

Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council (WDC) has completed the development of the unit standards listed below.

Summary

Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure WDC, the Gas Association of New Zealand (GANZ), and representatives from the gas reticulation industry have developed the unit standards listed above.  The unit standards will address a skill gap for laying steel gas pipe and working in hazardous areas on the gas network, identified during the recent review of the gas industry qualifications and standards.

Technical advisers were consulted during the development of the unit standards in December 2022 and January 2023 via email and online meetings.
