Summary of review and consultation process

The Māori Governance qualifications were scheduled and triggered for review in 2022. The NZQA website was updated signalling the review and published the Review Plan and Draft Terms of Reference.

The Whakaruruhau Working Review Group (WWRG) members that participated in the review represented, whakaruruhau, industry, and tertiary providers. Review hui was held online on the 12th October 2022 and consultation was undertaken via the NZQA website for a period of four weeks.

WWRG considered the responses and implemented the proposed changes as outlined below.

Main changes resulting from the review

· Minor changes made to the strategic purpose statement for Kaupae 4 and 6 to include advancing environmental aspirations.

Minor changes made to Graduate Profile Outcome 3 for Kaupae 4 and 6 to provide clarity and consistency.
The mātāpono for Kaitiakitanga was amended to include a te ao Māori tirohanga for Kaupae 4 and 6.
Minor changes made to the Rangatiratanga mātāpono for Kaupae 6.
An additional mātāpono was added for Mana Whenua to ensure reo and tikanga of Mana Whenua is acknowledged.
Additional GPO was added to reflect the additional mātāpono of Mana Whenua.
Credit values have been redistributed across the graduate profile outcomes.

· Minor edits made to the Employment, Cultural, Community Pathway for both Kaupae 4 and 6.
