Summary of review and consultation process |
Employers and industry representatives were consulted to ensure the qualifications were relevant and fit for purpose. Consultation documents were published on the Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council Website from March through to August 2022. A Technical Advisory group with representatives from the gas reticulation industry, and the Gas Association of New Zealand (GANZ) considered the feedback at Advisory group meetings in June and August. Meetings were conducted online, and the recommendations informed the qualification review and amendments were made where appropriate. |
Main changes resulting from the review |
New Zealand Certificate in Reticulated Gas Pipelines (Level 3) (130 Credits) [Ref: 3591]: - Graduate profile outcomes were updated in line with current industry requirements. - Education pathway was updated - Evidence requirements for assuring consistency, and general conditions for the programme were updated to reflect NZQA requirements for listing. - Condition relating to graduate profile outcome one was removed to reflect NZQA requirement for listing. New Zealand Certificate in Reticulated Gas Pipelines (Level 5) with strands in Metering and Pressure Control, Polyethylene Pipelines, and Steel Pipelines (85-120 Credits) [Ref: 3640], will be expired and replaced with a new replacement qualification. New Zealand Certificate in Gas Industry Support (Level 4) [Ref: 3592] will be expired with no replacement. |
