Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The Te Reo Māori qualifications were scheduled and triggered for review in 2022. The NZQA Website was updated signalling the review and published the Review Plan and Draft Terms of Reference. The Whakaruruhau Working Review Group (WWRG) members that participated in the review represented te reo Māori me ngā tikanga practitioners, industry, and tertiary providers who deliver programmes leading to the Te Reo Māori qualifications. A review hui was conducted on the 12-13 May 2022. Consultative development and feedback continued online until the WWRG had ratified the draft proposed qualifications. The mandatory review ensures the qualifications are relevant, fit for purpose and meet the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū and iwi. The WWRG for the qualifications are listed on the Application to List (NZQF8) and wider consultation for feedback and comments was conducted via the NZQA website for a duration of four weeks. |

Main changes resulting from the review |
|
Minor changes made across all tohu Kaupae 5 – 6 for consistency. - Minor changes made to the SPS across all quals. - Minor changes made to the Graduate Profile Outcomes to include tohutō, ‘tōna taumata’ is changed to ‘tēnei taumata’. - The list of roles outlined in the Employment, Cultural, Community Pathway sections across all tohu have been omitted due to their restrictive nature. - Changes to template have been made within the Quals Specifications section for consistency and relevance. - No English translations of the Kaupae 5 and 6 (Rumaki) tohu will be provided as per Whakaruruhau request. |
