Summary of review and consultation process

This qualification initially co-developed by IT Professionals New Zealand and NZQA was due for review in October 2023.  The review has been completed early due to feedback Toi Mai received around required updates. 

The following consultation was undertaken with industry and providers:

· Industry stakeholders, including those who host learners, those who were involved in creation of the qualification, and public sector representatives, were invited to industry meetings in June and July 2022.

· Providers were part of a Te Pūkenga Cybersecurity Collaborative Programme Development Hui held in July 2022.  Another provider was also consulted and was connected with the Te Pūkenga group to continue collaboration.

The consultation above identified that the need for change related to the delivery of the programme of study and that the qualification was still fit for purpose.

Main changes resulting from the review

Minor changes were made to the Qualification Specifications:

· Minimum standard of achievement, and evidence requirements for assuring consistency statements updated.

· General conditions relating to diversity and inclusion expanded.

· Codes of ethics and professional practice statement updated.

It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements.  However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to Toi Mai Workforce Development Council at the address below.  Appeals will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
