Summary

 

Three unit standards from the Construction Health and Safety, and Injury Prevention domain were reviewed between September – November 2022 to ensure they reflect the current needs of industry.  The review was undertaken because the unit standards were overdue for review.

 

Consultation was carried out with providers and the peak body Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ) who represents industry.  The unit standards were updated in line with current industry practice, terminology, and regulations.  

 

Main changes

 

·                The guidance information was updated to use current terminology, and refer to current regulations, legislation, and codes of practice.

·                The purpose, outcomes and performance criteria were updated to reflect current best practice in industry.

·                The titles of all three standards were amended to reflect current language and practice in industry.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2024.
