Planned review date                                                                              December 2027

Summary

The unit standard review process was completed in conjunction with the new qualification development of the New Zealand Certificate in Fluid Power Fundamentals (Level 3) [Ref: 4777].  The purpose of reviewing the standards was to ensure these standards were fit-for-purpose meeting industry and learners’ needs that aligned with the graduate profile outcomes developed in the above qualification.  A Technical Advisory Group (TAG) was formed and a consultation phase for reviewing the standards was conducted over several meetings.  The industry representatives within the TAG are confident that the reviewed standards are fit for purpose meeting industry standards.

Main changes

·      The main changes are within unit standards 20611 and 20612 including credit values, title changes and additional learning outcomes to meet current industry and learner needs specific to fluid power.

·      Changes in remaining standards involve removing ‘power’ from the titles and learning outcomes and adding examples for further context.

·      Hanga-Aro-Rau Workforce Development Council is the new standard-setting body responsible for Engineering and Technology unit standards.

Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)

All unit standards were moved from CMR 0013 to CMR 0014.
