Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau carried out the review of Construction Trades unit standards from May 2022- December 2022. The consultation included industry representatives, Te Pukenga, industry associations and providers with consent to assess. Consultation involved meeting with stakeholders in person, email and phone communications and online meetings to confirm that the unit standards in this review remain fit for purpose.
Main changes
· Unit standards 2546, 2558, 20735, 20890 and 26348 will expire as they are no longer required by industry.
· Unit standards 20739, 20742, 27649 and 26039 have had a title change to better represent the unit standard and align with what is required within the performance criteria.
· Changes have been made to unit standard legislation and standard dates for currency.
· The unit standards have been updated to reflect the change of standard setting body from Building and Construction Industrial Training Organisation (BCITO) to Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2025
