Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council (WDC) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published March 2023
Summary
The review was initiated as the unit standards were overdue for review and had low or no recent usage. The unit standards were not being used as they were not fit for purpose and were previously used in programmes leading to National Certificate in Stonemasonry (Level 5) [Ref: 0336] and National Certificate in Masonry with strands in Monumental Masonry, Natural Stone Fixtures and Fittings, and Banker Masonry (Level 4-5) [Ref: 1482], which are now discontinued.
Consultation was conducted in November 2022 with providers who have consent to assess and the peak bodies Stonemason’s Association, and New Zealand Master Monumental Mason’s Association. These organisations confirmed there was no objection to the expiry of these unit standards.
Main changes
· 9 unit standards in the Monumental Masonry domain and 18 unit standards in the Stonemasonry domain have been designated expiring as they are no longer fit for purpose.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
