Summary of review and consultation process

The review of the qualification ran from May to December 2022. It consisted of a preparatory stage when information was gathered, followed by an online survey and a combination of face-to-face and TEAMS consultation events.

Stakeholders involved in the review included peak bodies, industry associations, employers, providers, government organisations, graduates, and assessors.

The feedback and recommendations from the various consultation events were analysed with proposed amended qualification outlines and socialised with stakeholders for comment and attestation. While consultation indicated that the qualification is fit for purpose and meets the needs of graduates and employers, some amendments were made to strengthen the qualification, without changing the intent.

Main changes resulting from the review

Graduate profile outcomes were amended, for clarity.

Graduate destinations were updated. Counselling was removed and Employment Support was added.

Wording related to disability, diversity and cultural implications for programmes was strengthened.

The condition for the award of the qualification contexts has been stated more clearly.
