Summary of review and consultation process

In early 2023, a review of the Commercial Skydiving qualification commenced.  An Advisory Group (AG) was formed, using experts in their respective fields who would be able to provide advice and guidance on the specialist requirements for a commercial skydiving role, and included the only New Zealand Provider, the industry association, and commercial skydiving operators.

Consultation took place to ensure current practice and regulations were being met, and any gaps were identified and addressed.  Advice on technical content was provided by the AG, which informed the qualification, as well as considering programme design.

The draft qualification was updated to reflect the outcomes of the consultation.  The final draft was circulated back to the AG for any further feedback, and following their consultation with their networks, the qualification was endorsed.

Main changes resulting from the review

New Zealand Diploma in Commercial Skydiving (Level 5) [Ref: 3897]

· Minor amendments to reflect NZQA requirements for listing.

· Minor amendments made to strategic purpose statement for clarity.

· Updates to the assuring consistency requirements.

· Information has been added for programme developers regarding programme endorsement considerations.
