Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council reviewed 11 unit standards from the Fibre Cement Linings domain. The review was undertaken with provider Te Pūkenga (trading as BCITO) in December 2022, and expiring the unit standards was confirmed.
The list of unit standards in this review were first registered in 2006, and they were used in programmes leading to now expired National Certificates. BCITO reviewed the previous National Certificate and replaced it with the New Zealand Certificate in Interior Linings Installation (Level 4) with strands in Fixing, and Finishing (with optional strand in Fibrous Plaster Installation) [Ref: 3061]. At the time new unit standards were developed to be used in programmes leading to the new qualification. At the time when the new unit standards were listed, the old unit standards were not expired. These unit standards have not been used since 2017.
Te Pukenga (trading as BCITO) confirmed via email in December 2022, that they do not have any intention to use the standards included in this application and that they would not be negatively impacted if these unit standards were expired.
