Summary of development/review and consultation process |
Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council reviewed the meat processing animal product examination qualifications listed above to ensure they continued to be fit-for-purpose for the animal product industry. Providers with programmes leading to either or all of the qualifications together with industry and subject matter experts provided feedback and input into the review of these qualifications. All the listed qualifications and subsequent changes have been approved by the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) as meeting their requirements and that of New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) as regulatory bodies for the industry. |
Main changes resulting from the development/review process |
· Expiring of Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications due to the use of a micro-credential and alternative arrangements to meet the training requirements for these two areas. · New Level 4 qualification developed with updated Graduate Profile Outcomes and credit values to meet the needs of the sector. Achieved by the GPOs being reduced to only the requirements of the animal product examiner role. · Update of Education Pathway to include industry training which meets the Ministry of Primary Industries requirements – this allows for micro-credential(s) for Level 5. |
