Summary of republication and consultation process |
Stakeholders identified that the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) flight training school and flying operations operates under their own rules, which broadly align to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), however, they do not use the CAA syllabus. As the qualification GPOs refer specifically to the CAA, this may exclude military pilots from gaining the qualifications. The requirements for the qualifications, programme conditions and GPO conditions were amended to allow for NZDF equivalence of CAANZ Commercial Pilot License theory subjects. |
Main changes resulting from the republication |
Changes applied across both qualifications: General Conditions for programme section was updated to allow for equivalency between CAA and NZDF licence theory subjects. Other Requirements section was updated to add a statement to identify the provisions of Civil Aviation Rule 61 to allow equivalence. GPO1 Conditions was updated to allow for NZDF equivalence of CAANZ Commercial Pilot License theory subjects. The qualifications will be republished with no version change and no change to next review date. The update will take effect immediately. |
