Summary

Toitū Te Waiora Community, Health, Education and Social Services Workforce Development Council reviewed the unit standard between October 2023 and December 2023 in response to a request to review. There were concerns that content was out-of-date and that resources were no longer valid. The review process included consultation with Te Whatu Ora ki Waitaha as well as wider national consultation with other interested parties. The proposed changes to the unit standard were circulated, with an update published on the Toitū Te Waiora website. The final draft was supported by all interested parties. 

Main changes

· Removal of the reference to The Treaty of Waitangi and replacement with Te Tiriti o Waitangi to align with wording in current legislation (Education and Training Act 2020).

· Unit standard title has been updated to reflect changes as a result of review.

The last date for assessment of the superseded version of Category B unit standard is 31 December 2025
