These standards in domain Gagana Tokelau were developed to appeal to and meet the needs of the community and senior secondary students.
A development panel representative of stakeholders was convened in New Zealand, including the Ministry of Education. In-person and online meetings were held to develop the new standards. Feedback on the developed standards was gathered from stakeholders through an open consultation process via the NZQA website. There was consensus to approve the newly developed standards following open consultation in November 2023.
