Summary of development/review and consultation process |
Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council has completed an early review of this qualification. The Industrial Textiles Fabrication Review was initiated in August 2022 following an early review request received from industry and provider representatives, who stated that the current qualification was not fit for purpose for programme development in its current form. The new version of the qualification provides a more practical focus which will lead to better outcomes for both businesses and learners. Consultation took place between August 2022 and December 2023 with representatives of the industrial textile fabrication industry, employers, industry association and training providers. Regular online meetings were conducted to discuss industry training needs and identify any skills gaps, and to ensure the qualification was fit for purpose. The reviewed qualification was circulated to stakeholders by email and a consultation period held at the annual industry conference. All feedback was considered by the advisory group. |
Main changes resulting from the development/review process |
- The title of the qualification was changed to reflect its use in both the Fabrication and Trimming sectors. - Qualification credits were reduced from 120 to 105 to more accurately reflect the required learning and assessment time. - Graduate profile outcomes were updated to reflect the required skills and knowledge of graduates as required by industry. - Education pathway was updated to reflect changes to the pathway. - Employment pathway was updated to include trimming roles. - Standard setting body was updated from MITO New Zealand Incorporated to Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council. |
